Biography


Angèle Liaigre is the EU project advisor at the Cities Northern Netherlands for the EU office, with a specific focus on circular (bio)economy, climate adaptation, digitalization, culture, tourism, and regional innovation valleys.

The EU Office of the Cities Northern Netherlands is an in-house office representing the cities Groningen Leeuwarden Assen and Emmen in the EU. The aim of the office is to represent the interests of the cities and to develop innovative projects with international partners in the EU. Additionally, the goal is to find partners from other regions and cities, connect them to our projects and perceive new developments and projects which can contribute to local economic challenges. This way, the idea is to improve the competitiveness, and the development of businesses in the Northern Netherlands.

Career


In 2019, Angèle completed the double-degree Master’s programme in European Governance at the University College Dublin and Utrecht University. Before that, she studied for her bachelor at the University of Nantes (France) and got her diploma with honors in Law and European Studies. During this programme, she had the opportunity to do an Erasmus in Finland.

After graduated from her Masters, she started working for the representation in Brussels of the French region Pays de la Loire, where her affinity for local development started. She worked there as a policy officer for environment, bioeconomy and urban affairs. She started working for the Cities Northern Netherlands EU office in April 2023. Angèle speaks fluent French and English and has a good level in Dutch and Norwegian.
